STEPHENVILLE — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Texas A&M Forest Service and Organic Means Conservation Company will present a workshop for landowners recovering from new wildfires from 1-5 p.m. May 18 at the AgriLife Extension Center, 1229 N. Freeway 281.
Topics will incorporate grass restoration, tree restoration, wildfire preparedness, landscape stabilization and value-share plans.

United Supermarkets donates far more than two tons of apples
United Supermarkets and Industry Street on Wednesday donated 4,960 lbs . of apples to the Food Financial institution of West Central Texas as portion of the Consider a Chunk Out of Hunger Method.

Taylor County gets security award
The Texas Affiliation of Counties Threat Management Pool recently presented a 2021 Protection Accomplishment Award, the TAC reported in a news launch Wednesday.
The award acknowledges the county’s “dedication to protection in the office, as well as for managing the county’s workers’ payment claims,” the release claimed.
To qualify for the award, counties need to take part in the TAC RMP’s Workers’ Compensation System and have a safety program or accident prevention prepare, in addition to other standards. A complete of 17 counties receive the award this year.
Taylor County experienced earlier been given the TAC’s Excellence in Basic safety Award in 2018, 2019 and 2020, and in 2017 been given the TAC Gold Star for Protection Award.
